Responsibilities
The Optometric/Ophthalmic Assistant is responsible for providing direct patient care to patients seen in the Optometry or Ophthalmology departments. He or she will ensure the safety and comfort of patient and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards.

Salary Range: $38,422 - $47,460 (Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.)

Education
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Preferred: N/A
Experience
Required: At least 1 year previous Medical Assistant or Optometric Assistant experience if not a graduate of an
approved Medical/ Optometric Assistant program.
Or
6 months experience and be a graduate of an approved Medical/Optometric Assistant program.
Preferred: 1 year in optometric setting
License(s)
Required: N/A
Preferred: Certified as an OA
Special Skills
Required: Able to use equipment and related supplies for selected patient population. CRT experience.
Preferred: Able to use NCT, Autorefractor, computer related equipment, Lensometer and able to perform K-
readings.
Other
Required: Current BLC through American Heart Assoc
Preferred: Windows bases computer skills
